Smelting 2002 - "Roman Ironworks"

Jadran Sterle, a journalist and reporter on TV Slovenia suggested to make a film on smelting experiment and also on ancient ironworking locations in Bohinj. We were preparing the experiment for several month and made special building »Roman Ironworks« and put in all neccessary equipment: furnaces, tools and materials. We decided to make new furnace of argil and constructed foot bellows for pumping air to the furnace.
